THIS JUST IN:: From one of our favorite DC real estate blogs, Urban Turf, while the rest of the country continues to struggle the National Capitol Region seems to have moved past the housing recession of 2007-2009. "Nationally, home prices fell 4.2 percent in the first quarter of 2011, according to the latest Case-Shiller report released this morning. However, the index reported that home prices in the DC area increased on both a monthly (+1.1%) and annual (+4.3%) basis."

We are very proud to announce that last night OPaL & Cabin John Crossing won two prestigious awards at the 2011 Maryland Home Builders Awards Ceremony. The banquet was held in Baltimore to honor the best in marketing, architecture and interior design within the Mid-Atlantic home building industry. We only wish we had one of our homes at Cabin John Crossing completed in order to be nominated for an award. Next up:: Virginia State awards & Washington, DC Architecture awards this summer. We'll be ready!

Our first home at Cabin John Crossing is under roof in just 5 days. Shown above are workers completing the framing of the front porch and shed dormer. Windows and doors will be delivered on Monday, shingles will go on this week plus the stairs will be installed by Friday. We hope you have time to visit soon and be one of the first to tour this very special home.

Framing of the first Clara Barton at Cabin John Crossing began yesterday. We expect the home to be under roof within 3 days! The above photo shows the stairwell tower, with windows stretching from the bedroom level all the way down to the rec-room; showering the foyer and great room with natural light. You must find time to visit soon.
