Apple & OPaL
The 10 S's of "the Steve Jobs code"
Having just tore through Steve Jobs' biography (I pre-ordered in the fall of 2011) I was struck by how much OPaL and Apple have in common.
I also came across the above blog written by Matthew E. May who came up with 10 things he got from the book and I could not agree more::
1. Real artists simplify
2. Real artists steal, everything had been done before
3. Real artists seduce
4. Real artists stand for something
5. Real artists ship
6. Real artists are spiritual
7. Real artists say no
8. Real artists stumble
9. Real artists seek
10. Real artists stay with us forever
Not only does Apple sound like OPaL, not only did Steve's second company NeXT have a similar type pattern to OPaL, more importantly both build simple and beautiful things that stand for something and have a deeper meaning than what you see in three dimension. His was technology and ours is a home. Nice.
