V Street Will Never Be the Same

Our home at the intersection of Ontario and V Streets NW, is almost complete. Several people have reached to see the floor plans, so I thought I would share them here. Our architect was able to effectively provide each level of the home with a separate and distinct use: 3 complete bedroom suites plus an optional media room and not just one but several work-from-home options.

The lower level could be the 3rd bedroom suite or maybe the perfect place to Netflix binge.

At street level, you'll find a charming foyer plus another bedroom suite.

A main level unencumbered by walls with floor to ceiling windows on either side of the home.

The master suite sits in the tree tops and has a flex space for additional closet space.

Wait until you see the city views from the terrace.

Photographers Are Some of My Favorite Artists

Some people think I'm crazy. However, I love having multiple photographers take photos of a home we have completed. Each person will find a new point-of-view or an interesting site line no one else has thought of. Or what happens most often is each photographers use of light is so different the same perspective can take on a totally different feel. I just love the science of a photographers thought process. Below are two images taken by Stacy Goldberg at our newly completed home in Cleveland Park. When comparing these photos by Stacy to the other photographers who shot the home, these have a fresh take on the home. Neither are better than the other, just different. That's So OPaL.

OPaL in Dupont Circle / Landscape Plans

Jordan Crabtree and his Loch Collective from Annapolis have put together an exemplary landscape plan for our Adams Morgan corner home. This lot is a mere 450 square feet. That's not a lot of space, but they have made magic in this design. A garden of sea grasses, annuals and dogwoods with an irregularly shaped patio will provide the future home owners with an outdoor space bonanza (not to mention a roof deck with insane views of the entire city)!

We spent a few days with the writers from The Post last week for their Buying New section. The article is online now and will appear in print this weekend! So proud of this project and all the work Ditto. had done to make it real.

LITTLE RED CHAPEL by OPaL | Capitol Hill | Unit A

Sometimes, we just sit in this home. Quietly. Thinking. Sometimes in the dining room. Sometimes in the master bedroom or the loft. This home is just about the perfect city home....unique, pretty, unpretentious, well located and just so darn charming.

Those tall, clear-view windows, hand made, with just a hint of stain glass. Impossibly perfect.

Charming. That's it. Just so....Charming.

A master bedroom with 3 exposures and this cute view of D Street.

The front patios are like the front porch you remember from your Grand Mom's house.
Elevated from the sidewalk. Behind a hedge of boxwoods. Just like her house.

You could use this patio for table space or maybe a fountain in the center or an elevated koi pond!

This photo quickly became the most iconic and most famous photo on our Google web search.
You can understand why. It's amazing.
